
As Manager Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics, you will have overall responsibility for the entire supply chain process, from sourcing and procurement to logistics, warehousing, and delivery performance. You will combine strategic insight with strong hands-on leadership and take ownership of the day-to-day operation. You will ensure continuity, stability, and continuous improvement across our international supply chain, with a strong focus on collaboration with suppliers and teams in China. You will build long-term supplier relationships, optimize processes, and lead a multidisciplinary team across the Netherlands and China. In addition, you will serve as the final escalation point for disruptions and claims, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Manage daily procurement, supply chain, and logistics activities;
- Prioritize deliveries, manage shortages, and ensure production continuity;
- Take a hands-on approach to disruptions, including delays, quality issues, and shortages, and communicate directly with suppliers;
- Lead approximately 20 employees across logistics and warehousing.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Lead and develop procurement teams in the Netherlands and China;
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms;
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships;
- Monitor pricing, lead times, and supplier performance.
International Supply Chain & China Coordination
- Ensure a reliable, flexible, and cost-efficient international supply chain;
- Coordinate the flow of goods between Europe and China;
- Align production planning, quality requirements, and delivery schedules;
- Work closely with the local procurement team in China on a daily basis;
- Bridge cultural and operational differences between European and Chinese teams;
- Support supplier development and performance improvement.
Logistics, Warehousing & Customs
- Organize storage, inventory management, and warehouse operations;
- Optimize transportation flows, costs, and delivery performance;
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, HS codes, and import/export requirements.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Design and improve integrated processes for inventory, warehouse, and transportation management;
- Implement KPI-driven performance monitoring;
- Initiate improvement projects focused on cost reduction, lead-time reduction, and inventory optimization;
- Prepare short- and long-term procurement and inventory forecasts.
Problem-Solving & Escalation Management
- Quickly identify and resolve operational bottlenecks;
- Coordinate cross-functional solutions in response to escalations;
- Act as the final escalation point for supplier-related issues.
Candidate Profile
- A completed bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a comparable field;
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry;
- A strong hands-on mentality and a willingness to step in and help when needed;
- Extensive experience with international supply chains, preferably with China;
- Strong supplier management and intercultural communication skills;
- Analytical, solution-oriented, and able to perform well under pressure;
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect, motivate, and engage teams;
- Excellent command of Dutch and English; German or French is a plus.
