Manager Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics

The Manager Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the supply chain, including sourcing, procurement, logistics, warehousing, and delivery performance. This role combines strategic oversight with strong hands‑on operational leadership and sets the example in daily operations. You actively lead the day‑to‑day activities, ensure continuity across the supply chain, and take full ownership in resolving disruptions. A key part of the role is close collaboration with international suppliers and teams—particularly in China—to ensure alignment, performance, and effective communication across regions.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Daily management of procurement, supply chain, logistics, and warehouse activities;
  • Prioritizing deliveries, managing shortages, and ensuring production continuity;
  • Hands‑on intervention in case of disruptions (delays, quality issues, shortages), including direct supplier interaction;
  • Leading a team of approximately 20 employees within logistics and warehousing.

Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Leading and developing procurement teams in the Netherlands and China;
  • Managing supplier relationships, negotiations, and contracts;
  • Monitoring pricing, lead times, and supplier performance.

International Supply Chain & China Coordination

  • Ensuring a reliable, flexible, and cost‑effective international supply chain;
  • Coordinating global material flows, with a strong focus on Europe–China operations;
  • Aligning production planning, quality expectations, and delivery schedules;
  • Daily coordination with the local procurement team in China;
  • Bridging cultural and operational differences between European and Chinese teams;
  • Supporting supplier development and performance improvement initiatives.

Logistics, Warehousing & Customs

  • Organizing storage, inventory management, and warehouse operations;
  • Optimizing transport flows, logistics costs, and delivery performance;
  • Ensuring compliance with customs regulations, HS codes, and import/export requirements.

Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement

  • Designing and improving integrated processes for inventory, warehouse, and transport management;
  • Implementing KPI‑driven performance monitoring and reporting;
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives (cost reduction, lead‑time reduction, inventory optimization);
  • Preparing short‑ and long‑term forecasts for procurement and inventory.

Problem Solving & Escalation Management

  • Quickly identifying and resolving operational bottlenecks;
  • Escalating issues with suppliers and coordinating cross‑functional solutions;
  • Acting as the final escalation level for supplier claims and restoring supply chain stability under pressure.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field;
  • At least 5 years of demonstrable leadership experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry;
  • Strong hands‑on mentality and willingness to step into operational tasks when needed;
  • Extensive experience with international supply chains, preferably involving China;
  • Skilled in supplier management and cross‑cultural communication;
  • Analytical, solution‑oriented, and able to act quickly under pressure;
  • Strong communication skills; able to connect, motivate, and activate colleagues;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English; German or French is an advantage.
